Calling all bedroom rockers – the chance to support Jared Leto’s Thirty Seconds to Mars is up for grabs. A social media contest has been launched hunting for one lucky band or solo artist to support the alt rockers onstage at Dubai World Trade Centre on April 10.
To enter, simply post a 30-second clip of your performance on Facebook or Twitter with the hashtag #MARSBattleoftheBands
You will have to impress the band themselves though, with members of Thirty Seconds personally picking who will join them onstage to play in front of 10,000 people.
Musicians of any age and from anywhere in the GCC are invited to enter before the deadline of March 23. The recordings will then be put before a panel of musical heavyweights, including Virgin Radio’s Kris Fade and Dia Hassan, lead vocalist of UAE rockers Juliana Down, who will also be supporting on the night.
Together the panel will pick five finalists, with the final call being left to Leto and co. The winner will be announced on April 5.
