Fresh on the heels of Salman Khan's recent outrageous rape-victim comment comes Aamir Khan's new poster for his upcoming film Dangal – and it carries a powerful message about women's empowerment. The image depicts Aamir – like Salman in Sultan, he portrays a wrestler in Dangal – surrounded by his four on-screen daughters, with the tagline: "Mhaari chhoriyaan chhoron se kum hain ke?" (My girls are not inferior to boys). The poster stands in direct contrast to the brouhaha surrounding Salman's much-disparaged remark made in reference to his role in Sultan – he compared his plight while shooting difficult action scenes to that of a raped woman. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Dangal is a biographical sports drama that has 50-year-old Aamir portraying Indian wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, who taught his daughters the sport. Two of them went on to win gold and silver respectively at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Dangal is due to be released in December. Sultan is in cinemas on Wednesday, July 6. - Christine Iyer
