The Fast&Furious 7 cast has landed and are living it up in the UAE, with shooting expected to last until Friday. According to Facebook and Instagram, Vin Diesel and Tyrese Gibson hopped a helicopter to Dubai over the weekend, with Gibson later posting video from a Polo match. So where will he and the rest of the cast end up next? Here are some suggestions.
1) Hotel - Emirates Palace. We know from Tyrese’s copious social media activity that the cast is staying at the most luxurious hotel in the capital. So maybe it’s time to book that table in Hakkasan or the hotel’s Lebanese option, Diwan L’Auberge. Although we know that Vin Diesel’s favourite food is Italian so Mezzaluna might be a good place to catch him too.
2) Shopping - Marina Mall: It’s the closest shopping to where the cast are staying. And there’s always that something you forgot to pack even if you are a famous movie star. You never know, you could brush shoulders with Michelle Rodriguez in Oasis or maybe stumble upon Tyrese buying dental floss in Carrefour.
3) Nightlife - Emirates Palace Etoiles nightclub might be the very spot for the cast to unwind. Ludacris might be tempted down there with the flavour of Etoiles ‘Party Night’ being Hip hop and R&B. And Rodriguez has already been: She stopped in for a DJ gig almost two years ago in this very same month.
4) Shooting the movie - The film is being shot in Abu Dhabi until Friday. With rumours that shooting has already taken place along Sheikh Zayed Street and the Sheikh Zayed Bridge, we bet anything that the cast will be there to film close ups and action shots. Sheikh Khalifa highway, the one that runs from Saadiyat to Yas would also make for an ideal car chase setting with a picturesque backdrop. It’s hard to imagine that Yas racetrack wouldn’t make an appearance too.
5) Leisure time - Ferrari World, and Yas Waterworld - These spots are favourites among celebrities. One regular visitor to our shores, Wyclef Jean, tweeted photos from his visit to Ferrari World - would the cast of a gearhead movie really be able to resist? - while Rihanna enjoyed Yas Waterworld the day after her show.
