Naji Abu Nowar's BAFTA-winning, and Oscar nominated, Theeb kicks off The 7th Art Al Fresco's outdoor screenings this weekend when it screens at 6.30pm in Mushrif Park. The screenings are organised by Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority.
The WWI coming of age drama was partly funded by Abu Dhabi’s Sanad fund, and previously picked up two awards when it screened at 2014’s Abu Dhabi Film Festival. The film’s cast is made up largely of bedouin’s from the local community in Jordan where the film was shot, with no previous acting or movie experience.
