With his wife Kirron Kher taking on a strong role in politics, the Bollywood actor Anupam Kher hasn’t entirely ruled out following in her footsteps somewhere down the line.
The actor and host of the celebrity talk show The Anupam Kher Show — Kucch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai was a prominent supporter of his wife's campaign as member of the Bharatiya Janata Party during the Indian elections this year. Kirron, who is also a film and television actress, was elected to Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian Parliament from Chandigarh in May.
“I won’t be looking at politics for another seven to eights years,” Kher told us in a recent interview.
“You keep rediscovering yourself, so I don’t want to slot myself and say I’ll never do it. It might happen, but it isn’t on the cards just yet,” he said.
For now, the actor is concentrating on his TV programme and a great second half on the big screen. Kher's films this year include Singham Returns (out this weekend in the UAE), Daawat-e-Ishq, Ikkis Topon Ki Salami, Sonali Cable and Shaukeen.
