Abu Dhabi's indie film club resumes for 2013

Bored of the usual Hollywood and Bollywood blockbusters that dominate the schedule in your local multiplex? Then you will be pleased to know that Abu Dhabi's only film club to champion independent, regional films is back.

The Aflam Film Club - the brainchild of Emirati film director Nayla Al Khaja - is returning to Vox Cinema, Marina Mall to showcase the best of Arabic cinema.

At 7pm on January 23, A Man of Honor, a Lebanese drama about a man's chance encounter with a woman who coerced him to commit murder 20 years ago, is being shown.

Its director, Jean-Claude Codsi, will also be in attendance to discuss his movie and answer questions from the audience.

This screening at will be preceded by The Long Way Down, a short film by Egyptian director Yasser Howaidy.
