A teacher will get to walk down the red carpet with international celebrities and take home a US$1 million prize for their contribution to the profession on Sunday, March 13.
The Varkey Foundation Global Teacher Prize will be given away to one of the 10 finalists at a gala event in Dubai’s Atlantis, The Palm during the Global Education and Skills Forum.
Bollywood stars Abhishek Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Ali Zafar and Parineeti Chopra will be in Dubai for the red carpet. Korean-American singer Eric Nam and Moroccan singer Hatim Ammor will close the evening with a concert.
The award was initiated by the Varkey Foundation to recognise groundbreaking effort in education and elevating the status of teachers globally.
