Today is the last day of Middle East Games Con, a three-day show at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) catering to professional and amateur gamers from across the globe.
The event features previews of games currently unreleased in the region from leading publishers and developers, and also includes an official eSports tournament, as well as a ‘cosplay’ competition.
We went down on Friday night to catch the action (see it all in the gallery above) and saw plenty of great cosplay, as well as a performance from Coral Wave, an idol group who perform while in anime garb.
On Saturday, there is a cosplay display on the main stage at 4pm, as well as appearances from Mat Pat and Stephanie (3pm and 6.30pm) and Kwebbelkop and Azzyland (6.30pm and 8pm). There's a Fifa 20 showdown at 7.30pm and the Ammar Freez show at 5.30pm.
The organisers say they are expecting around 18,000 visitors over the three days: and there are other gaming activations around the city at the moment too, including an indoor maze and illusion room at Marina Mall, an eSports room at Yas Mall and dedicated gaming zones in Al Wahda and Galleria.
