Adele album hits the right notes
Adele's Grammy-winning 2011 release 21, was deemed by Billboard magazine the greatest album of all time based on chart position. The British singer racked up the most weeks – a total of 24 – for an album by a woman at the top of the Billboard 200 album chart. The 27-year-old saw 78 weeks in the top 10, Billboard said of their ranking released this week based on chart positions dating back to 1963. Adele's follow-up album, called 25, is due to be released on November 20. The first single Hello has already broken records for digital sales and music video views. – Reuters
Salman Khan’s new film is a family affair
Bollywood legend Salman Khan, who is riding high of strong opening figures of his latest film Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, says this genre of his latest release is one of his favourites. "There's nothing better than a family film," he said. "I appreciate all the fans who went to the theatre already – they've loved the movie from the feedback that I'm receiving." The feel-good movie, which was directed by Sooraj Barjatya, also stars Sonam Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Swara Bhaskar. – IANS
Sonu Nigam should sing more: amyra dastur
Actress Amyra Dastur wants singer Sonu Nigam to come up with more singles. "He is a great person and he is so much fun to work with. And I hope he makes more singles," said the Mr.X star. Amyra who worked with Sonu Nigam on Aa Bhi Ja Tu Kahin Se said Nigam has a lot to offer. "It was very good. He is one of the most humble people you'll ever meet. He's so kind I actually made him do a Dubsmash," she said. "I selected his song for it and he was actually standing behind me while doing it, so it's on Instagram and other places." – IANS
Julia Roberts meets namesakes
Actress Julia Roberts was taken by surprise when she met nine women who shared the same name as her, on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. While appearing on the late night chat show, alongside host Jimmy Kimmel, the actress admitted she never really dwelled on the fact that there could be other women with the same identity. "I guess I am self-centered and it never occurred to me that anybody else would be named Julia Roberts." she said "I didn't think no one would be; I just never thought about it." Via videoconference, the nine namesakes shared tales of the unexpected conveniences of having the same name as the A-lister, which included easily securing last minute hotel rooms and dinner reservations. Paltrow and Martin united for children
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and actress Gwyneth Paltrow are trying “really hard” to make their relationship “better” for the sake of their children. The former couple called time on their 12-year marriage last year and say that their priority is siblings Apple, aged eleven, and Moses, aged nine. Speaking to Ryan Seacrest on his radio show, Martin said, “Just because a romantic relationship ends doesn’t mean that the other facets of your relationship have to end or, indeed, doesn’t mean they can’t get better.” Martin earlier said that although the split was heartbreaking, he was able to figure out where he’d “gone wrong” in the past, after he separated from Paltrow. Possible Spice Girls reunion in 2016
Singer Mel B says the Spice Girls are keen to “make sure something happens” for their 20th anniversary next year, but they are still “figuring out” the details of a potential reunion tour. The 40-year-old has insisted the group, which includes Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, Mel C and Geri Horner, are keen to reunite but nothing has been finalised, according to aceshowbiz.com. “We’re figuring stuff out. As soon as we figure it out we’ll tell every detail, but until then there’s not much to say,” she said. “It’s like when you’re dating somebody and everyone is forcing you to get married. It’s like: ‘We’re getting married! Just give us a second to figure it out.’” IANS
