Hugh Jackman promotes Ski Dubai

Ski Dubai has tapped Hugh Jackman to promote its latest event, dubbed X-Men Freestyle Night, where guests can dress up in superhero costumes and engage in free-falls and stunts at the indoor ski resort on Thursday. "Hi, Ski Dubai. I wish I was with you in the slopes in Dubai," Jackman said in a 15-second video clip. "Never thought I would say 'skiing in Dubai'. That city, you can do anything." Gwen Stefani to join The Voice?

After Pharrell Williams was announced to replace CeeLo Green as a coach and judge in the forthcoming season of The Voice, the American network NBC is now reportedly in talks with Gwen Stefani to replace Christina Aguilera, who is expecting a child. The show's seventh season is scheduled to begin shooting in June. Williams and Stefani performed Hollaback Girl at the Coachella festival last week. – IANS

Jack White releases vinyl in hours

Jack White played his new single Lazaretto for a couple of hundred fans on Saturday, and four hours later a copy of the performance was available on a limited run of vinyl. He called the feat the "world's fastest-released record". As he was playing at his Nashville studio, fans could watch on television the acetate record being cut in a room behind the stage. Three hours and 55 minutes after the performance, White was back at the store, waving high over his head the first copies of the vinyl, which were sold to eager fans who were waiting in line. "It was starting to become a joke in music that record stores don't exist anymore," White said. "But I think the people that have always been real music lovers have always been there." – AP

Michelle Obama to appear in Nashville

Michelle Obama will appear on the May 7 episode of the ABC country music drama Nashville. The episode is set at Fort Campbell, a United States army installation located on the Kentucky-Tennessee border. The first lady's appearance on Nashville, by video, is for Joining Forces, a group that supports military families. The first lady is already set to appear on Thursday's season finale of the NBC hit comedy Parks and Recreation. – AP
