UAE audiences will be first in the world to see Disney’s latest blockbuster Big Hero 6 in 3D.

The hotly anticipated Marvel adaptation has been selected to close the Abu Dhabi Film Festival tonight (Friday October 31), marking the first time the movie will be screened in the region.

Big Hero 6 premiered at the Tokyo International Film Festival last week, in 2D form.

But organisers confirmed today that Abu Dhabi will be the first place to see the film in its full 3D form - a triumphant coup to wrap up an otherwise highly successful festival.

Set in the fictional futuristic city San Fransokyo, Big Hero 6 stars the lovable robot hero Baymax.

It is the 54th release to emerge over the 90 year history of the Walt Disney Animation Studios, and will be released in UAE cinemas on Thursday November 6.
