Sometimes, deciding what to watch on Netflix can take almost as long as the film itself. Between the much-loved classics, wealth of documentaries and unending stream of gripping originals, the choice is almost becoming too much.

But Netflix has now launched a new in-app feature which is set to make choosing a little easier. The streaming platform's new feature, 'Extras', has been designed to mimic an Instagram-style timeline and connect subscribers with shows they might like.

Focusing on Netflix Originals, Extras will also let you share trailers with friends via a text message or social media, and set reminders for the release of upcoming shows and movies.

Netflix says it is currently testing the feature, and has not indicated if it is something that will be rolled out permanently to all users.

As well as trailers, the new feature will show meme-style show images, and alternative trailers from some of its most popular shows.
