Jonathan Aguilar Garcia, who was better known by his stage name Chokoleit, died aged 46 on Saturday night, shortly after he performed at a show in the Philippine's Abra province.
The Filipino comedian, actor and TV host died after experiencing breathing difficulties, his talent agency, Star Magic, said in a statement. "Chokoleit was performing in an out-of-town show in Abra, and experienced difficulty in breathing after his performance."
He was rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital, where he died of a pulmonary edema and heart attack, his physician has confirmed.
Chokoleit had starred in a number of ABS-CBN movies, TV series and was best known for his role as Pearly Shell in the popular Philippine television show Marina.
Fellow Filipino comedians and celebrities turned to Twitter to share their condolences.
