The Image Nation Abu Dhabi and National Geographic co-production Free Solo already won the Oscar for Best Feature Documentary, but the 2018 film about climber Alex Honnold is still winning awards globally.
This time it bagged the Best History and Biography Programme award at the Banff World Media Festival's Rockie Awards, which was held virtually this year.
The winners of the international programme competition were revealed on Monday, June 15.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge's Fleabag scooped the Grand Jury Prize and best comedy series, as HBO's Gentleman Jack received the best English-language drama series going, and HBO and Sky TV's Chernobyl took home the best limited series award.
Hulu's Ramy was also nominated for the comedy series in the English language category, but lost to Fleabag.
What are the Banff Rockie Awards?
The Banff World Media Festival is an international media event, usually held in the Canadian Rockies in Banff, Alberta. The Banff Rockie Awards are held during the four-day event.
This year, however, the prize-giving ceremony was streamed live after the festival, which was supposed to run between Sunday and Wednesday, June 14 and 17, was postponed by a year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
What is Free Solo?
Free Solo is a stunning, intimate and unflinching portrait of the free soloist climber Alex Honnold, from award-winning documentary filmmaker Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and world-renowned photographer and mountaineer Jimmy Chin.
It follows Honnold as he prepares to achieve his lifelong dream: climbing the world’s most famous rock, the 975-metre – about 152 metres higher than Burj Khalifa – El Capitan in Yosemite National Park, without a rope.
Prior to the Banff win, the documentary had bagged a total of 29 awards, including an Emmy and a Bafta, plus received 54 nominations.

Farage on Muslim Brotherhood
Nigel Farage told Reform's annual conference that the party will proscribe the Muslim Brotherhood if he becomes Prime Minister.
"We will stop dangerous organisations with links to terrorism operating in our country," he said. "Quite why we've been so gutless about this – both Labour and Conservative – I don't know.
“All across the Middle East, countries have banned and proscribed the Muslim Brotherhood as a dangerous organisation. We will do the very same.”
It is 10 years since a ground-breaking report into the Muslim Brotherhood by Sir John Jenkins.
Among the former diplomat's findings was an assessment that “the use of extreme violence in the pursuit of the perfect Islamic society” has “never been institutionally disowned” by the movement.
The prime minister at the time, David Cameron, who commissioned the report, said membership or association with the Muslim Brotherhood was a "possible indicator of extremism" but it would not be banned.
Islamophobia definition
A widely accepted definition was made by the All Party Parliamentary Group on British Muslims in 2019: “Islamophobia is rooted in racism and is a type of racism that targets expressions of Muslimness or perceived Muslimness.” It further defines it as “inciting hatred or violence against Muslims”.
