Pictures have been released showing celebrities Orlando Bloom, Jessie J and Margot Robbie enjoying a private party off the coast of Abu Dhabi.

Hollywood star Bloom and Australian actress Margot Robbie were among 200 guests entertained by a live performance from Jessie J, at the exclusive event hosted at Zaya Nurai Island on November 5.

Robbie, who stars in upcoming comic book blockbuster Suicide Squad, said: "I've only been in Abu Dhabi for a day or so but it is a place of beautiful contrasts. I visited the desert yesterday and the vast tranquillity of that landscape is the opposite of the cosmopolitan modernity of the city – it is a beautiful place."

The A-list stars were in town to celebrate the launch of a new route into the capital from British Airways.

Abu Dhabi is one of just three destinations to be served by the UK carrier’s new luxury Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which will fly between London, Abu Dhabi and Muscat.

At the VIP launch party Jessie J performed songs including Domino, Ain't Been Done, Nobody's Perfect, Masterpiece, Bang Bang and Price Tag.

She said: “I love Abu Dhabi and am excited to have been able to perform for the people who have helped me travel around the world with my music safely and comfortably.”

Aimed at big spenders, the Boeing 787-9’s luxury First Cabin has space for just eight passengers, rather than the standard 14 on other models.

The plane is 20 feet longer and four inches taller than the existing 787-8, with 30 percent larger windows and 60 percent less engine noise both inside and outside the cabin.

Speaking onstage, Bloom told the crowd: “Ever since I was a kid, I’ve loved to travel. There’s nothing quite like the luxury of the new First cabin on British Airways. I’m sure it will be warmly received by British Airways’s passengers in Abu Dhabi. I have no doubt that travellers will love it.”
