As expected the exciting announcement that One Direction will play Dubai produced a flurry of reactions on Twitter. One Direction have a mighty army of nearly 19 million followers on Twitter, and the UAE “directioners” are a pretty active bunch.
After rumours that boys were going to perform in the UAE in 2012, disappointed 1D fans, took to Twitter in a fury and have since been pleading with the band to perform in the UAE with such schemes as a "Twitition" called Bring One Direction to Dubai that you can read here.
Today's reactions have been joyous to say the least with 1D fans like @hopeelessly, @im_synderella, @Hiba_Forever, @iridezayn and @rose_haysom all declaring that they are in tears over the news. Poor @Alanood_Alameri tweeted "My class is laughing at me because I'm crying because I found out that @onedirection are coming to #Dubai," which, @LifeNationalUAE had a sympathetic little giggle at too.
