Reggae royalty, rave music pioneers and New York DJs with Arab roots are all playing in the UAE this weekend.
Bob Marley Birthday Festival featuring The Original Wailers
Each outing of this Abu Dhabi stalwart is held on the weekend closest to Marley's birthday (February 6) and features artists associated with the legend. This year, we get Marley's official backing band, The Original Wailers, featuring the musicians who once shared the stage with Marley. While you won't get the full band (72-year-old band leader and reggae legend Aston "Family Man" Barrett can't make it), guitarist Junior Marvin and other members will be on hand.
Friday, 4pm, Yas Beach, Saadiyat Island, tickets cost Dh130, available at abu-dhabi.platinumlist.net

Also on the bill are British dance veterans Leftfield who will perform a DJ set.
