Post Malone is the last piece of the Abu Dhabi F1 music puzzle: the rapper has been announced as the fourth and final artist to take part in the Abu Dhabi F1 After Race Concert series at Yas Island’s du Arena.

The National made a prediction of his arrival on Saturday. The 23-year-old (real name Austin Post), who this year broke The Beatles' record for most simultaneous top 20 Billboard hits, will kick off the concerts on Thursday, November 22.

So why is Post Malone a big deal?

Post Malone's debut Middle Eastern appearance marks another notch on the belt of a young star that’s conquering charts and breaking records.

The artist, who has 'always' and 'tired' tattooed under each of his eyes is part of the generation of "Soundcloud rappers" who were discovered after posting their music on the online platform. His debut single, 2015's sweet and mellow White Iverson, which was uploaded on the site, received rave reviews and landed him a major label deal.

Malone went on to collaborate with the likes of Kanye West and Justin Bieber in addition to releasing back to back hits including Too Young, De Ja Vu and Congratulations.

His biggest single remains last year's Rockstar, a collaborative effort with rapper 21 Savage. Backed a moody trap beat, Malone's soulful croon on the hook catapulted the song to spend over 8 weeks on top of the US charts. The inclusion of the youth friendly Malone on the Abu Dhabi F1 also finds each of the concert series dedicated to a specific age set.

What else is happening over the weekend...

The urban music vibes will continue the following night with Canadian RnB star The Weeknd taking the stage.

On November 24 the du Arena will take on a more intimate air with celebrated UK singer Sam Smith performing.

The After Race Concert series will conclude on a thunderous rock note with Guns N' Roses performing the prestigious race day concert on November 25, featuring iconic front man Axl Rose, guitarist Slash and Duff McKagan on bass.

The Weeknd commands a more adult clubbing audience while Sam Smith's appeal to a broader range of radio listeners. The final show by Guns N' Roses should appeal to everyone, with the band amassing dozens of hits through out a three-decade career, including November Rain and Welcome to the Jungle, that saw them reach out to a new generation of fans. Even if you are not a rock aficionado, the pyrotechnics and bombastic sound will ensure the concert will be nothing short of a spectacle.

To attend the four Yasalam After-Race Concert performances it is necessary to purchase a ticket for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
