The K-pop news just keeps coming. After it was announced that boy bands Super Junior and NCT 127 would be coming to Dubai's Coca-Cola Arena on Friday, March 20, it was announced that Music Bank is heading our way; a second big K-pop event, which will take place in the same location the day after on Saturday, March 21.
Artists set to perform include Twice, Seventeen, Monsta X and Jus2, as well as Exo's Baekhyun as the Music Bank world tour adds Dubai to its list of global stops.
Fans of the artists were quick to take to social media to express their excitement over seeing their favourite acts in the UAE:
Music Bank is a show that began in 1998 and airs performances by artists in various locations around the world. Popular groups perform their biggest hits as the hosts countdown the top songs of the week.
They’ve held the world tour in cities such as Paris, Jakarta, Istanbul, Rio de Janeiro and Mexico City. The show is currently broadcast in more than 100 countries around the world and includes English subtitles.

The UAE has seen a shift in K-pop over the last couple of years. Fans here have long been asking for the return of a full-blown K-pop concert – the last was arguably SM Town Live in 2018 which featured artists such as Exo, Girls' Generation, and Big Bang. Since then, the likes of Seventeen, SF9, and Momoland have also performed in the emirate.

$1,000 award for 1,000 days on madrasa portal
Daily cash awards of $1,000 dollars will sweeten the Madrasa e-learning project by tempting more pupils to an education portal to deepen their understanding of math and sciences.
School children are required to watch an educational video each day and answer a question related to it. They then enter into a raffle draw for the $1,000 prize.
“We are targeting everyone who wants to learn. This will be $1,000 for 1,000 days so there will be a winner every day for 1,000 days,” said Sara Al Nuaimi, project manager of the Madrasa e-learning platform that was launched on Tuesday by the Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, to reach Arab pupils from kindergarten to grade 12 with educational videos.
“The objective of the Madrasa is to become the number one reference for all Arab students in the world. The 5,000 videos we have online is just the beginning, we have big ambitions. Today in the Arab world there are 50 million students. We want to reach everyone who is willing to learn.”
