Martin Garrix in the UAE: A huge new EDM festival is coming to Dubai

Garrix will be joined by Afrojack and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike at the new Bao Festival at Meydan this November

EDM superstar Martin Garrix is coming to town

Dutch EDM stars Martin Garrix and Afrojack are coming to Dubai to headline a new dance music event, Bao Festival, which will be held on November 29 and 30 at Meydan.

Joining them on the line-up are fellow dance-music heavyweights Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Don Diablo, Nervo, R3hab, Alok, Salvatore Ganacci, Brooks, Dante Klein, Marcos Santoro and DJ Licious.

The announcement of Garrix as a headliner will be welcomed by the region's dance fans, with the UAE getting a taste of the young star when he performed a late and exclusive set last year as part of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Beyond The Track concert series at du Forum.

A festival monster, the 22-year-old will be truly in his elements when he hits the decks and drops his anthems Animals, In the Name of Love and this year's Like I Do and High on Life.

Afrojack hitting the UAE is a similarly tantalising prospect – Abu Dhabi fans saw his Tomorrowland set in Belgium as part of the Unite with Tomorrowland concert at du  Forum in July, but now they will get to see him in the flesh.
