Indian musician and composer AR Rahman is set to perform at Dubai's Coca-Cola Arena later this year.
The two-time Oscar winner is a prolific composer, having worked on the music scores for nearly 200 films. That includes multi-Academy-Award-winning Slumdog Millionaire, as well as Danny Boyle's Oscar-nominated 127 Hours and dozens of Bollywood movies, including 2001's acclaimed Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India and award-winning 2008 action film Jodhaa Akbar.
The star, who hails from Madras, has also won close to 100 other prestigious awards, including two Grammies, four National Film Awards and a Golden Globe.
Rahman, who has performed in the UAE numerous times before, will hit the Dubai stage again on Friday, November 15, alongside "special guests", the names of whom are yet to be announced.
Coca-Cola Arena promises a night of "folk, desi, filmi and Indian pop" that is "not to be missed". Tickets start from Dh50, stretching up to Dh1,250 for a Diamond-tier ticket. The show starts at 6pm on the night.
