Exo superstar Lay Zhang is getting a magazine issue dedicated to him, and he’s helped to edit the entire publication. The singer, dancer, writer and actor is the first Asian artist to get a bespoke edition of tmrw Magazine. The 100-page publication will feature pages of content including unseen photos picked by Lay, as well as an in-depth interview which delves into the past five years of his career, from his early days with Exo to his latest solo efforts. The magazine also shares a sneak peek at the Chinese singer’s backstage dance rehearsal before the Chinese Top Ten Music Awards, which took place in July. Even though Lay is most known for being a member of the K-pop group Exo, he’s also found success on his own. He’s spent the past few years building up his popularity in China by starring in variety shows and films, as well as releasing solo music. In 2017, he had a role in Stanley Tong's Kung Fu Yoga which starred Jackie Chan. Around this time, he also made his last public appearance with Exo on the Hong Kong portion of the band's world tour. He's had to halt his time with the group due to overlapping schedules with his solo career. “I always want them to know I am there for them,” he shares in the magazine while recalling both his Exo family and his family back in Changsha, China. The magazine is available worldwide and Exo-Ls in the UAE can also get their hands on a copy here. The issue is £14 (Dh67). Exo first visited the UAE back in January 2018 as their hit song Power became the first K-pop song to play at the Dubai Fountain. The group held a press conference as well as a small meet and greet for their fans. They followed that with the much-anticipated SM Town Live, a gig which saw them perform with a number of other K-pop acts from SM Entertainment. In July 2019, they were also awarded a star on the Dubai Walk of Fame.
