After a three-year absence, Creamfields Abu Dhabi is back on the capital's music calendar.

A video upload was Flash Entertainment's way of announcing that the popular dance music festival would be returning to the capital on December 8, 2017.

The festival was last held at du Forum back in 2014 with superstar DJs Afrojack and Hardwell headlining the event.

While there has yet to be any official line-up announcements for this year, here are some of the bands I think should be Creamfields headlining contenders.

The Chainsmokers

This DJ duo would certainly draw a crowd to Abu Dhabi if they were to be chosen to headline. They are known for hits such as Paris, Closer, Don't Let Me Down, and Something Just Like. The pair recently headlined the Singapore F1 after-race concerts and would draw a diverse crowd.

Avicii

Technically, he's retired from touring. But back in August, he released a new single Without You from his EP AVĪCI (01). The 28-year-old Swede is still one of the biggest names internationally, so why not have a one-off gig to help celebrate the return to Creamfields?

Alan Walker

Even though he's more fresh to the scene, the 20-year-old's megahit Faded was pretty much everywhere this past year. He followed that up with tracks Sing Me to Sleep and Alone. Who wouldn't want to see a rising DJ like Alan Walker headline the festival?

Dash Berlin

One of my all-time favourite DJs, I'd love to see them back in the UAE. While they haven't had as much new music out of late, their old stuff is what trance dreams are made of. They released a new album titled We Are (Part 2) back in March.

David Guetta

The 49-year-old is no stranger to Creamfields, having headlined the event in 2008 and again in 2012. He has a house in Dubai so the travel to Abu Dhabi to perform wouldn't be too taxing. And he's been around so long, who wouldn't want to hear old favourites such as Titanium, Play Hard, or Without You?

Your guess is as good as mine though, guess we'll have to wait and see who will be announced for the December gig.
