Kendrick Lamar has been announced as the final act to perform at the Abu Dhabi F1 After Race Concert series.

After a series of cryptic messages alluding to his songs and the fact he won seven Grammy Awards, promoters Flash Entertainment officially announced the superstar rapper in a statement today.

The 30 year-old will perform on November 24 at the du Arena. He would complete the four day line up of concerts which begins a day earlier with Scottish DJ Calvin Harris, the British folk-rockers Mumford and Sons on November 25 and pop star Pink  on the prestigious race day concert on November 26.

Access to the shows is only available for those purchasing tickets for the corresponding race day.

Lamar's inclusion in the bill is a big coup for Abu Dhabi. The Compton rapper is having the best year of his career, having released his critically acclaimed fourth album Damn in April and headlining the massive and influential US music festival Coachella.

He is also tipped to once again be in the running for the top Grammy award of Album of the Year when the ceremony returns next January.

Hip-hop purists will also be delighted with Lamar’s inclusion as the rapper delivers a no-frills performance of the best kind. Backed by blinding lights and evocative visuals, most of his performance finds Lamar doing what he does best, delivering those socially conscious lyrics in a mind bending vocal flow.

With the exception of Mumford and Sons who are presently in between albums, this year’s Abu Dhabi F1 announcement is the most current with each of the artist hitting the capital with new work to promote.

Pink released her seventh album Beautiful Trauma on Friday while Harris returned with the stellar sun kissed fifth album Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1 in June.

To attend the four Yasalam After-Race Concert performances it is necessary to purchase a ticket for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Tickets are available online at www.yasmarinacircuit.com, through the Yas Marina Circuit Call Centre (800 927) or +971 (0) 2 659 9800, as well as through all Etihad Shops and Virgin Megastores, Yas Central Express stand at Yas Mall, and through the YasHUB smartphone app and its Facebook shop: www.facebook.com/yasmarinacircuit
