Brody Jenner, who has previously made cameo appearances, will now officially join the cast of Keeping Up With the Kardashians and said that he’s looking forward to “getting to know [his] extended family a little better”. Spielberg bringing Napoleon to life
The Hollywood legend Steven Spielberg, 66, is to make a television mini-series about Napoleon, based on a five-decade-old screenplay by Stanley Kubrick, written in 1961. "I've been developing Stanley Kubrick's screenplay for a mini-series, not for a motion picture, about the life of Napoleon," Spielberg said, without clarifying whether he would direct or just produce the project. Kubrick, famed for his obsessive perfectionism, abandoned the Napoleon biopic project in the 1970s because of budget and production challenges. – AFP
Schwarzenegger to be magazine editor
He was the Terminator, then a governor, and now Arnold Schwarzenegger is an editor. The Los Angeles Times reports that Schwarzenegger has been named executive editor of Muscle & Fitness and Flex magazines. It's a position that the former Mr Olympia held briefly 10 years ago, after winning California's gubernatorial recall election. After being criticised for a potential conflict of interest, he quit the job. The Times says Schwarzenegger, who has appeared on the magazines' covers more than 60 times, will contribute columns and other input. – AP
Barbara Walters is back and healthy
Sidelined for six weeks by chickenpox and a concussion, Barbara Walters, 83, returned to The View this week. "After a lot of scratching and rest, I am fine and I am healthy," she said. Walters was hospitalised on January 19 after fainting and hitting her head on a marble floor at a party. She suffered a concussion and had several stitches. She had chickenpox and a fever at the time but didn't realise it. Walters, looking rested and more than ready to be back, joked that "people say I should have my head examined. I did have my head examined, and I am fine." – AP
Meditation teacher de Herrera dies
The pioneering meditation teacher Nancy Cooke de Herrera has died. She was 90. Madonna, Sheryl Crow, Judd Apatow and Paula Abdul were among the students who learnt transcendental meditation techniques at de Herrera's home in Beverly Hills, California. She studied meditation in India in 1968 alongside Mia Farrow and The Beatles and taught the practice for the remainder of her life. She published a memoir in 2003 about her time in India. – AP
