If you've ever dreamed of writing a film script, now is your chance to turn that fantasy into a reality.
Emirati film production company Image Nation Abu Dhabi has linked up with the Embassy of the United States and Film Independent, a non-profit arts organisation, to launch AFS Storytelling, a three-month course for ambitious scriptwriters.
Experts from Film Independent, including A Wrinkle in Time screenwriter Jeff Stockwell, will teach the successful candidates about the different elements of screenwriting – story structure, character development, plot – as well as explaining how the page translates to screen and even offering guidance on how to present projects at festivals and competitions.
The course, which takes place at the Image Nation offices in Abu Dhabi and is free, is split up into three sections. Successful applicants are expected to commit to the full programme.
Section I: Finding Your Story and Story Structure
December 8-11, 2018
Section II: Character Development
February 8-11, 2019
Section III: Making Your Movie
Monday 25-28, 2019
Applicants must submit the following information:
- Treatment in English, (minimum one page, maximum two pages)
