Heropanti: Directed by Sabbir Khan, this film marked the debut of Tiger Shroff, son of the veteran actor Jackie Shroff, and was an assault on the senses. The testosterone-filled drama was a hit at the box office (in Bollywood, bad films almost always make good money) but was utterly unbearable for its sexist undertone and the lead actor’s lack of acting skills (and his unnaturally red lips). The Xpose:Logic and sense were not high on the list of priorities for the makers of this Himmesh Reshammiya and Honey Singh film. Directed by Anant Mahadevan, The Xpose had some ridiculously cringeworthy, sexist and derogatory dialogue. The film also had Reshammiya in a scene ripped off from The Great Gatsby. Humshakals: Not much is usually expected of the director Sajid Khan, but he hit an all-time low with this film. It takes a very special filmmaker to convince Saif Ali Khan, Ram Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh to each take on a triple role. It was so bad, some viewers in India reportedly walked out of the cinema before the halfway mark. Even Saif Ali Khan has admitted that agreeing to do the film was a huge mistake. Courtesy Puja Films
Happy New Year: Directed by the queen of over-the-top dramas, Farah Khan, not even a star cast – Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan and Boman Irani – or the Dubai locations could save this incredibly silly robbery drama that got the audience to part with their brass, and went on to become one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time.
