With Tiger Zinda Hai opening in UAE cinemas on Thursday, its biggest stars, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, have discussed shooting part of the film in Abu Dhabi.

Speaking ahead of the release, Bollywood star Salman Khan praised Abu Dhabi and said the emirate was a “pleasure” to film in.

“I want to come back for my next film and then the other one,” Khan said in an exclusive interview with Twofour54. “You have the sea here. You have the desert here…You can shoot about any film here.”

Tiger Zinda Hai is Abu Dhabi's longest feature-film project to date. It was shot in the emirate over a 65-day period and was helmed by a 300-person international production team. The sequel to Ek Tha Tiger sees Khan and Kaif reprise their roles as secret agents who battle an evil militant this time.

Kaif highlighted the production services, government support and hospitality making the stint action-packed. "We had a volleyball court, we played cricket - there was never a dull moment," she said. "You never felt that you were waiting for your shot, there were so many fun ways to pass the time."

Kaif expressed gratitude to the Abu Dhabi Government for their help, support and "amazing hospitality during this whole shoot".

"The weather of course has been hot, but I enjoy it. I got a chance to go to the beach, people are so friendly," she said. "Tiger Zinda Hai will be all the more special because of them."
