Hrithik Roshan teams up with Bollywood Parks Dubai to design 4D superhero Krrish ride

Superstar Hrithik Roshan, who brought the first modern Indian superhero to the big screen, has teamed up with Bollywood Parks Dubai to develop a 4D flying theatre ride.

Following in the footsteps of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Indian actor Hrithik Roshan has joined forces with Bollywood Parks Dubai to create a 4D superhero themed ride.

When the world’s first Bollywood inspired theme park opens in October, the Dubai Parks and Resorts entity will have themed attractions and rides spread across five zones including Bollywood Boulevard, Mumbai Chow, Rustic Ravine, Royal Plaza and Bollywood Film Studios.

Roshan, who brought India's first modern superhero Krrish to the big screen, has collaborated with the park to recreate the experience of fighting bad guys in a 4D flying theatre ride, Krrish: Hero's Flight.

Bollywood Parks has just released a behind-the-scenes video of the green-screen shoot with the actor for the ride. As part of the ride, Roshan, in his mask and cape will take riders on an adventure through picturesque locales and landmarks of India as he tries to defeat his nemesis.

The ride is modelled on the superhero film franchise by producer and director Rakesh Roshan. The first film in 2006 introduced state-of-the-art special effects to Indian cinema, and earned more than $17 million at the box office. The film won the Indian National and Filmfare awards for special effect. Krrish 3 was released in 2013.

The digital imagery in the ride situated at Bollywood Film Studios sucks riders into the action for the first second. The visuals have been produced by Prana Studios and designed by cinematographer Sudeep Chatterjee, who worked on Bollywood films Dhoom 3 (2014), Chak de India (2007) and Bajirao Mastani (2015).

The action director Shyam Kaushal, who was associated with Slumdog Millionaire (2008) and more recently Aamir Khan's PK (2014), says the actor committed to providing a larger-than-life experience to the riders. "Hrithik Roshan is nothing short of a perfectionist and he has put his heart and soul into every shot."

Other rides in the film studios include live state shows based on the movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Shah Rukh Khan’s RA.

One 4D ride is also part of the Hall of Heroes zone and will be a multi-sensory virtual thrill ride.

The park is scheduled to open on October 31.
