BTS become the first K-pop band to perform on 'Saturday Night Live'

They performed new single 'Boy With Luv' and 2018 hit 'Mic Drop'

K-pop band BTS made their Saturday Night Live debut on April 13, in the process becoming the first South Korean artists to perform on the NBC sketch comedy series.

The crowd was packed full of fans of Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook, who made themselves very known, as they screamed in the audience.

Actress Emma Stone was the host on the night, and chatted about the band's appeal with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show on Friday.

“I just saw their soundcheck today, and I involuntarily screamed,” she said. “I’m actually not kidding. It came out of my body. It was like, ‘Ahhh!’ It was like a chemical reaction that happens. They’re incredible.”

The band performed two of their songs, Mic Drop and Boy With Luv, however they did not perform in any of the comedy sketches the show is famous for.

Their fan base is known as the Army, which was out in force on Twitter and Instagram during the band's SNL performances. #BTSxSNL was trending worldwide on Twitter all day on Sunday, April 14.
