Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has been named among the world's highest paid actors.
The Indian-Canadian star, who over the past year has appeared in fantasy drama Mission Mangal and Sci-Fi thriller 2.0, earned $65 million (Dh238.7 million) between June 2018 and June 2019, according to Forbes magazine, making him the fourth-highest paid actor in the world.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was named as the world's highest paid actor. The Fast and Furious star pulled in $89.4 million (Dh328.3 million) from June 2018 to June 2019, according to Forbes.
That includes his salary and a share of profits from films, $700,000 (Dh2.5 million) per episode of HBO series Ballers, and seven figures in royalties from his line of clothing, shoes and headphones with Under Armour.
Last year, Johnson was second behind George Clooney, who reaped a windfall from the sale of his liquor company.
Next on this year's list were two stars of Avengers: Endgame - the highest-grossing movie of all time.
Chris Hemsworth, who played Thor, took in $76.4 million (Dh280.6 million), while Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. earned $66 million (Dh242.4 million), Forbes said.
Other Endgame stars - Bradley Cooper, Chris Evans and Paul Rudd - also landed in the top 10.
However, most of Cooper's earnings, according to Forbes, came from A Star is Born, the musical drama he directed, produced, co-wrote and starred in with Lady Gaga. Cooper collected $40 million (Dh146.9 million) of his $57 million (Dh209.3 million) total from that film.
Hong Kong-born actor and martial artist Jackie Chan also made the list with $58 million (Dh213 million) in earnings over the past year.
The figures are pre-tax and do not include deductions for fees given to agents, managers and lawyers, Forbes said.

Unresolved crisis

• 2checkout’s “all-in-one payment gateway and merchant account” accepts payments in 200-plus markets for 2.4-3.9 per cent, plus a Dh1.2-Dh1.8 currency conversion charge. The US provider processes online shop and mobile transactions and has 17,000-plus active digital commerce users.
• PayPal is probably the best-known online goods payment method - usually used for eBay purchases - but can be used to receive funds, providing everyone’s signed up. Costs from 2.9 per cent plus Dh1.2 per transaction.

Terror attacks in Paris, November 13, 2015
- At 9.16pm, three suicide attackers killed one person outside the Atade de France during a foootball match between France and Germany
