On Sunday night, Filipino celebrities descended on Resorts World Manila for for the inaugural Black Magic Halloween Party, which was hosted by talent management company Star Magic. The stars who dressed up for the occasion included Edward Barber and MayMay Entrata, Kathryn Bernardo, Liza Soberano and Dimples Romana. Kathryn went for a classic Poison Ivy look, while her partner in crime Daniel wore face paint in the Mexican 'sugar skull' style: Daniel also put a giant eye ball on his head for some parts of the party (as you do). The couple turned up as the characters from the anime One Punch Man. We love that MayMay is Saitama, the strongest character in the whole series (girl power). And the award for commitment to a costume that's truly hard to move around in has to go to Dimples, who makes a regal Maleficent. This pair found inspiration from the 2004 Wayans brother film White Chicks. And these two went all the way back to a 1988 Tim Burton film: meet Beetlejuice and Lydia Deetz. The actress got out the fake bruise makeup to transform into Lara Croft after she's run around a few tombs. Well this is meta: the young actress dressed up as her own character, transforming back into the ghost she played in 2018 film Eerie. Good on her for dressing as something that's actually scary. The Chinese-Filipina actress turned up as a killer mummy: niche, but definitely on brand for Halloween. This pair are John Lennon and Yoko Ono during the couple's famous 1969 'bed-in for peace'. The actress went full Sailor Moon. This trio is in Game of Thrones garb: just a couple of Night's Watchmen and a Khaleesi. The tiny dragon is our favourite bit (the sheet ghost in the background is also cracking us up). Heaven is Wonder Woman: of course she is.
