Susan Sarandon, Ben Stiller, Madeleine Stowe and the Duchess of York will be flying into the UAE next month to attend the Brilliant is Beautiful event in Business Bay, which will raise funds for both Dubai Cares and Artists for Peace and Justice (APJ). The gala dinner and live auction will be at the Grand Millennium in Business Bay, and has been brought to the UAE in part by former Ladies of London star Caroline Stanbury, who is now a Dubai resident, and staged similar galas in London in 2016 and 2017. Stiller, Stowe Sarandon are all on the board of APJ. The money raised will go towards education efforts around the world: Dubai Cares focuses on providing quality education for young people in developing countries; while APJ runs scholarship funds for young women around the world, including in Pakistan, Uganda, Peru and Haiti. The Pakistani programme of APJ is called the Iqra Fund, and it works to change the lives of girls in rural parts of Pakistan, hoping to offer them an alternative to early marriage. APJ runs events around the globe, including in Cannes during the film festival, in LA during Oscars week and in Toronto over the period of TIFF. This will be its first Dubai event. The event is sponsored by watch brand Bovet 1822 - those interested in attending should email events@apjnow.org for ticket details. _______________ Read more: Young Syrian refugee actor meets Lady Gaga at Governors Awards Ryan Reynolds scales UAE's Jebel Hafeet for 6 Underground
