Abu Dhabi's Yas Drive-In Cinema announces August film line-up: 'Black Panther', 'Love Actually' and more

The Yas Drive-In Cinema is continuing this month with a selection of family-friendly films on its bill.

Screening movies every Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the month (bar Friday, August 7), coming titles include The Greatest Showman, The Lion King and Love Actually.

The cinema is at a purpose-built venue at Yas Marina Circuit.

Movie-goers can enjoy the films from the comfort of their car, with the sound played through a dedicated radio channel on their vehicle's stereo.

Tickets cost Dh160 a vehicle and, in line with government directives, there is a limit of three people per car if guests are not from the same family. If they are from the same family, there can be up to five guests in a vehicle.

The ticket price includes a selection of snacks, and there is the option to buy more food and drinks at the venue.

Upon arrival, guests will have their temperatures checked and will be expected to wear masks when the car windows are lowered and if leaving their vehicles.

Movies coming to Yas Drive-In Cinema

On the first weekend of the month, Trolls and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will be shown; the cinema will be closed on Friday, August 7, for a private event. The following week, the 2019 live-action remake of The Lion King, Stephen King's It and Love Actually are on the schedule.

The third weekend of the month will feature two movies shown on the Thursday night: Frozen 2, starting at 6.45pm, and The Greatest Showman, starring Hugh Jackman, at 9.15pm. On Friday, Back to the Future, starring Michael J Fox, will be shown, followed by Les Miserables on Saturday.

On the last weekend of the month, Abu Dhabi's movie fans will be able to watch Moana and Black Panther on the Thursday and Friday. The Saturday film selection is to be announced.
