An exploration into the medium of paper as well as the idea that reading can be a form of art is the subject of the current exhibition at La Galerie, inside the Alliance Française in Dubai. With artworks by Nasir Nasrallah, a prominent Emirati artist, Sarah Mumtaz, from Pakistan and Joelle Verstraeten from Belgium, the exhibition has been curated by Antidote Art & Design. The artists have interpreted the notion of reading and mark making as well as the kinesthetic link between sight, sound and speech. Each artist’s individual approach to working with paper is also something the curator’s have taken care to highlight.
