Visit Maraya Art Centre and see the exhibition Home Ground at, which addresses the connection one has to a certain place beyond memories, habits, rituals and experiences, and focuses on the struggles associated with navigating geo-political barriers.
The works presented focus on themes and experiences that resonate on a global scale exploring ways in which identity is shaped by one’s relationship with a particular geography, and reflect the artists’ difficulties and hopefulness in their attempts to travel, emigrate, return and to feel at home.
The exhibition is presented jointly by the Barjeel Art Foundation and the Aga Khan Museum.
