The art work of Florian Messner speaks to the modern individual who he sees as being numbed from the reality of life by the world of technology and screens that surround us. As such, he chooses to depict the Eye of Horus in most of his paintings because the ancient Egyptians used this symbol to awaken intuition. “Intuition is always awake in all of us, it never sleeps it is just covered by debris of our modern busy lives,” says Messner in his artistic statement. We all have ability to wake up from our imposed slumber and become more alert and aware. This painting is a gentle reminder,” he continues.
Messner will be making an appearance tonight at 8pm La Parole Gallery, in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi where his paintings are on show. Don’t miss the chance to speak to the artist.
