Local feeds of Instagram and Facebook were awash with pink last night after the hugely popular opening of eL Seed’s solo show at Tashkeel. The gallery was full and people were stepping over, under and around his three dimensional letters, in Pantone 219c - the distinctive shade of fushcia, which he often chooses. The letters, on a larger than life scale spelled out a love poem by Syrian Nazir Qabbani and spilled out of the gallery, into side rooms and even outside.
The scale, the ambition and the creativity of the project had everyone in awe and hence, they were all compelled to share and talk about the show on social media.
Declaration marks the end of eL Seed's year in Dubai and if last night's turn out was anything to go by, he will be sorely missed.
