Time is running out if you want to apply to be an intern in the UAE National Pavilion at the 2016 Venice Biennale.

Emiratis and long-term UAE residents have until November 28 to submit an application.

Yasser Elsheshtawy, associate professor of architecture at UAE University, has been appointed curator of the UAE’s participation at the 15th International Architecture Exhibition at the Venice Biennale, which runs from May 28 until November 27.

The UAE has been taking part in the event since 2009. The pavilion is commissioned by the Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation, and supported by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development.

The chosen interns will spend a month in Venice during the biennale, getting hands-on experience at the pavilion.

Their internship will start in the UAE with a comprehensive educational programme drawn up by some of the country’s leading cultural institutions.

Visit the National Pavilion website to apply. Applications close on November 28.
