Climate change exhibition worth checking out

  • English
  • Arabic

These stunning photographs are part of a new exhibition currently up in the Sofitel hotel on JBR. They are the results of a worldwide competition hosted by the Alliance Francaise specifically focused on climate change. The winner, from 43 countries, is Yusuf Ahmed from Bangladesh whose works show the dramatic rise of sea level and ensuing threat to more than 10 millions people in Bangladesh. Other images show the cracked red earth of Bombay, India and flooded streets of Bangkok, Thailand. One particularly striking photograph shows a woman dancing next to a lake in Melbourne, Australia, which has turned bright pink due to high salt concentrations caused by shifting weather patterns.

CLIMATE - State of Emergency runs until June 5 and is free entry, open 24 hours. I highly recommend you make time to see it.
