I had a lovely morning today at the artist's talk over breakfast at Lawrie Shabibi gallery in Alserkal Avenue. Radiant Trajectory opened last night during Galleries Night. The exhibition features sculptural objects that concentrate on the medium of light and attempt to capture the fleeting moments of flux that we experience on a daily basis living in urban environments.
British artist Nathaniel Rackowe was in the gallery during an open conversation with gallery manager Laura Egerton talking about the work. It is not often that we get the opportunity to eaves drop on such a fascinating and insightful conversation. During an hour, we covered topics of art, light, architecture, built environments, structure and making the every day beautiful.
My full review will follow over the next couple of weeks in The National's Arts and Life section. For more info on the artist and the gallery visit www.lawrieshabibi.com
