Emirati painter Budour Al Ali is opening a week-long exhibition in Dubai today. The artist, whose talent for realistic renderings has her pieces in collections all over the country, is attempting to capture the beauty of the UAE’s natural environment in her show.
“The attraction of UAE lies in its multitude of fauna, flora, people, its variety of cultural expression and the vastness of its environment,” she says. “As an Emirati artist, I would like to share some impressions of some facets of that cultural uniqueness. Beauty is not only in the eye of the beholder but also in the heart of all of us.”
Her paintings depict the animals of the UAE such as the gazelle, the falcon and the camel and she also paints desert scapes, which she says have breathtaking beauty. “They silence the mind, uplift the soul and caress the heart,” she says.
The exhibition opens today at Kempinski Hotel, Mall of the Emirates, Dubai and runs until Saturday November 12. The artist will be there every day from 4.30-9pm and on the weekend from 9am-9pm. Take your chance to go and meet her and see her work in person.
