Art Of One: Inside the life of Myneandyours

Dubai-based artist Marwan Shakarchi is the subject of a new video put together by the team at Drawdeck.

Shot mostly in Tashkeel, where Shakarchi has a full-time studio, the four-minute video shows the artist working on his graphic drawings, painting, spraying murals and also enjoying some downtime on his skateboard.

Shakarchi is better known for his pseudonym, Myneandyours, which he admits doesn’t make a lot of sense but is the ideal name for his practice, which came about after a very personal journey and is something he hopes touches many people around him.

The video is part of a new series of short film portraits called Art Of One. They aim to unearth the stories and inspirations behind some of the most exciting artists based in the UAE.

Drawdeck is an online platform for artists, illustrators and designers in the UAE and the videos are produced in collaboration with Thomas Simon.
