There are more than 1,000 postcards here - some by world renowned artists such as Susan Hefuna, an Egyptian who recently had a massive retrospective in Sharjah Art Foundation or Christopher Bailey, the chief creative director of Burberry fashion house. Others are by students from Dubai and Sharjah and there are a few by street artists such as Ruben Sanchez and eL Seed.

The full list is shown next to the exhibition and are all for sale anonymously as part of London’s Royal College of Art’s Secret Project. Each costing Dh500, the postcards have been on display all week at the fair and on the last day, Saturday, they will go on sale on a first come, first served basis.

Part of the fun of this project is seeing if you can match the cards to the names and the other great element is buying something that you have no idea of its actual value. The best part is that all proceeds go towards funding scholarships for foreign students wanting to attend the prestigious London institution so even if you don’t get something you consider to be valuable, you know you have helped out an artist of the future.

* Art Dubai is open on Saturday from 2pm-6.30pm at the Madinat Jumeirah. For more info visit www.artdubai.ae
