Five men have appeared at Abu Dhabi Criminal Court accused of trying to conceal the consumption of drugs by replacing their urine samples with water.

The court heard that Ml, AA, AS, HA and SM were arrested on suspicion of consuming drugs and taken to Khalifa City A police station.

They were told to provide urine samples, but when the forensics lab tested them, it was discovered that they were filled with water.

So police issued a permit to retake their samples and traces of hashish and Tramadol were found.

The men were not brought to court from prison so the case was adjourned until February 24.
