Last week Madonna opened her Rebel Heart Tour in Montreal, Canada. The singer and her dancers donned attire created specifically for the tour by Gucci’s creative director, Alessandro Michele.

Her high fashion looks are a far cry from the performance get-ups of singers like Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry, who favour more outlandish garments. Nonetheless, Madonna’s ensembles come with their own theatrics. Her first look combined a jacquard bodysuit with a black ruffled skirt, lace gloves and knee-high, high-heeled boots. To top it off, she wore a black hat decorated with silk flowers.

Her dancers wore complementing bodysuits with patchwork and ruffle adornments, floral headpieces, pleated neckpieces, brocade jackets and lace capes.

“It has been a marvellous experience and a great gift collaborating with Madonna,” says Michele. “Now that I have had the chance to see her working, I truly understand why she is so grand! I believe she is a true artist and I am crazy about her.”

The Rebel Heart Tour will go on through the end of the year, hitting 20 cities in North America and 16 cities in Europe along the way.
