To greet the new autumn/winter season, Christian Louboutin has designed a new range of bags for men. A fresh trio of styles are well sized and practical, and being by Louboutin, are furnished with gleefully tongue-in-cheek names.
Explorafunk is a backpack whose name is a hybrid of the words explorer and funky. Described as a new buddy for the urban traveller, this double strap bag is masculine, edgy, and covered in Louboutin trademark spikes.
Bagdamon — a favourite here with the fashion desk, derives its name from merging the Hollywood actor Matt Damon, with the word bag. With the action-hero star of the Bourne Identity films firmly in mind, this weekend bag features an embroidered crest, and a sturdy red rubber sole underneath (no doubt to protect it during high drama situations). "I imagined Bagdamon to be a carryall for the Urban hero, like Matt Damon's invincible character in The Bourne Identity, explained Christian Louboutin.
Finally Apoloubi, pays homage to the space mission that first put man on the moon. Loosely based on the high tech fabrics of spacesuits, with protected corners and oversized zips — presumably easier to undo with spacesuit gloved hands, the shape of this backpack is upright and slightly cylindrical, much like its namesake rockets.
Louboutin's new bags for men are now available in Christian Louboutin boutiques at The Galleria mall and Sowwah Square in Abu Dhabi, and Mall of the Emirates in Dubai,

His life in brief: Born in a village near Galilee, he lived in exile for most of his life and started writing poetry after high school. He was arrested several times by Israel for what were deemed to be inciteful poems. Most of his work focused on the love and yearning for his homeland, and he was regarded the Palestinian poet of resistance. Over the course of his life, he published more than 30 poetry collections and books of prose, with his work translated into more than 20 languages. Many of his poems were set to music by Arab composers, most significantly Marcel Khalife. Darwish died on August 9, 2008 after undergoing heart surgery in the United States. He was later buried in Ramallah where a shrine was erected in his honour.
