Benedict Cumberbatch looked sharp and nifty at the Burberry Prorsum show, held in London’s Hyde Park on Monday. He wore a grey sweater, a pair of black jeans and a navy trench (Burberry, of course). Curiously, he held onto a handsome vintage leather bag — anyone else wondering what could be inside? The script for Hamlet? Was he heading straight to a Sherlock shoot? A mid-week sojourn to the South of France? Oh, who cares — he looks great.
Cumberbatch sat on the front-row with wife Sophie Hunter, who looked just as stylish in a knockout white overcoat, worn with a shiny pair of double monk-strap shoes.
Their ensembles felt right at home at the Burberry runway, which showcased trench coats, duffle coats, silk slip dresses and, notably, lace detailing — on everything, even on men’s garments — truly one of the biggest trends that has emerged this week in London. The show was gloriously scored by a performance of singer Alison Moyet and a 32-piece orchestra.
The highlight was a nylon backpack worn by some of the models, monogrammed with their initials; cue long wait-lists on your nearby Burberry boutique.
