As if there isn’t enough theatre in fashion right now, Furne One lit his runway show — Fashion Forward’s finale on Sunday night — like a concert.
The soundtrack? Only some Beyoncé, some tribal chanting, some electronica and some tunes you’d hear in a Hitchcock movie.
Is it a fashion show or is it Las Vegas?
The clothes were simply insane: there were gowns with overlays of pleated fabrics, fur, crystals, chiffon, embroidery and cascading ruffles cut like paper ornaments — all of which came in electric colours.
Given the intricate detailing and delightful ostentation on every piece, it was stunning to see that the clothes still had freedom of movement, allowing the models to do a uniform swingy-slinky walk.
It was great fun. By curtain call there were no words, just applause.
