Anyone who has grown to love Ekotribe's cool products will be a fan of its new shop-and-ship website, The Green Ecostore, which launched on November 1 and offers more than 100 products.
The store plans to add new products every month, including some holiday-themed items.
Already there are better-known brands and some exciting, hard-to-find products. They include a range of solar chargers, from keyring to backpack, green-themed books, a variety of reusable products and a waterless car wash system.
All of the products listed have at least one "green" feature, and you need to simply run your mouse over an assortment of 16 cute little symbols for an explanation of the ways in which each is environmentally friendly and responsibly made.
A little house with green leaves on top signifies "fair trade", meaning that the workers involved in manufacturing the product were paid proper wages. A beaker with a little greenery inside it indicates "chemical free", meaning that no chemicals, toxins, dyes or additives were used in the manufacturing process.
Other symbols indicate whether products are free of BPA, or Bisphenol A, a chemical in plastic that has links to a variety of adverse physical effects; to indicate they've been made from recycled materials; are recyclable, reusable, solar-operated, save energy or are made from sustainable materials.
Shipping is a standard Dh20 within the UAE and free for orders above Dh750.
